7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. 9 Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!
10 Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.11 As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.
12 Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.
Having patience is definitely one of the most difficult things to do. I think you could say that I am one of the most impatient people in the world, whether it is traffic, or waiting to be seated at a restaurant. It is a struggle that I always knew that I had, but have not really made an effort on improving. If I do not even have the patience to sit through traffic, then I have a long way to learn and grow because we need to be patient for the Lord's coming. There are many places in the world that are suffering, and in far worse condition, yet there are people in those countries who are patiently waiting for the day that the Lord is coming, and I need to learn to be patient in all circumstances.

thanks jen for your honest reflection. what an important passage today! it really convicted me cos i'm probably way more impatient by nature than you. a patient person entrusts everything in life to the Lord's care--we would do well to remind ourselves everyday of these verses, confident that, "no good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly" (psalm 84:11).
Thank you Jen for your reflection. I think it is important to live each day with thankfulness and gratitude regardless of what situation we are in knowing that our Lord is full of compassion and mercy. Everything that He does is good for those who love Him. God allowed Job to suffer because it was His Will and we know that His Will is perfect.

I hate waiting, and I know I'm not patient at all. It's shows my doubt and lack of trust in the Lord. I guess patience is one of the greatest acts of faith a Christian can show as a testament in how much they lean and trust in Christ. I never really thought about it that way. I always figure you have it or you don't.
